IDI and Business Transition Strategies Win the 2019 M&A Source Deal of the Year Award

KNOXVILLE, TENNESSEE - DECEMBER, 23, 2019

The M&A Source Deal Market takes place twice a year at each M&A Source Conference for Professional Development. IDI Partner John Dalton attended the “How to Sell a Manufacturing Company” professional development course at the conference, where he met M&A Advisor, John Howe of Business Transition Strategies (BTS). This connection resulted in deal information on Materials Research Furnaces (MRF). From introductions to close, the MRF deal closed in less than six months.

MRF designs and manufactures high temperature furnaces with process temperatures ranging from 1600° - 3000°C, and is based in Allenstown, NH. Hundreds of custom MRF extreme temperature furnaces operate globally, used in research and production of ceramic and refractory metal components, crystal growth for electronics, tantalum capacitor production, and a range of other uses.

Michael Rubinger and his team at Nelson Mullins in Atlanta provided legal counsel to IDI; Peter Burger and Bradford Melson of Orr & Reno provided legal counsel to MRF. Source Capital LLC provided debt financing and equity investment to support the transaction.
